I grew up in the Inland Empire before hitting the major cities of the West Coast for college, seminary and internship. Having been called to ministry in the ELCA from a young age, I have often had the opportunities to experience God’s church in the world – the church without walls – in my relationships with many of the people I encounter. That said, I always find myself coming “home” to hear the Word proclaimed and receive the Sacraments as food for the journey. In the complex web of relationships between God and ourselves, I am grateful for the immense history of the church and lessons of the past.
My interests include music and history, food and drink, art and culture, architecture and exploring the natural world with friends and family.
Education and experience: Religion B. A. with minor in music composition and performance from Pacific Lutheran University. Master’s of Divinity from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary of California Lutheran University. Street ministry and outreach with San Francisco Night Ministry. Event planning and community organizing experience from undergrad to present. Over the past decade, I have served congregations in Oakland, San Francisco, San Diego, and Covina.
As I continue to serve Christ’s church now on the Central Coast, I am continually amazed and humbled by the great gifts of community and the challenges of ministry in this new era and rapidly-changing world.
